Practical Applications, Inc.'s Courses

All PAI's Courses are approved by the Board of Certification of Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators for Training Contact Hours. Our courses are run by industry leaders who have successfully preparing professionals for over ten years. Our chemistry professional, Mr. Martins, has been with our company for over 20 sessions and has extensive industry specific knowledge.

Current MA regulations require licensed Wastewater Treatment Operators to obtain 20 TCH due at the end of each odd year (2007, 2009, etc.). Wastewater Operator Exam Prep Course

This course is designed for those seeking a Wastewater Treatment Operator certificate by the New England Interstate Water Pollution Control Commission (NEIWPCC) for all level I- IV. While preparing for the exam you earn 24 Department of Environmental Protection approved training contact hours (TCH).

This course is an eight week comprehensive exam preparation course to get you ready for the May 17, 2008 NEIWPCC exam. The course covers all information and skills required to pass. Course topics include equipment, mechanics, wastewater chemistry, wastewater math, test-taking skills & strategy, chemical safety, plant safety, and wastewater treatment methods.

The first day of class we fill out the NEIWPCC exam application and make sure they are submitted correctly and on time. There will be a review session the day before the exam, May 16, 2008, in Practical Application’s office in Boston.

Thursday Mornings 8am - 11am (12pm for Grades 3&4)
State Exam Applications will be completed the first day.
All necessary course materials will be provided.

The next available course will be held in September 2008. The NEIWPCC holds their exams semiannually in May & November, applications deadlines & the beginning of our course is approximately 45 days before the exam.

Training Contact Hours Review Course

All of us here at Practical Applications really enjoy these events and hope that next year's TCH Course will be as much of a success as this years. You will earn TCH's and have a great time while learning a thing or two and sharpen some old skills.

Practical Applications, Inc. held their last Training Contact Hours (TCH) Course on October 25, 2007. The program topic was “Pumps and Valves” and was held at FW Webb’s Woburn training facility. There was a full demonstration vehicle provided by Gorman-Rupp on location. As in the past our participants have given us positive feedback about our program. We have had events at the Harpoon Brewery, Deer Island, New England Aquarium, Genzyme’s Green Building, Alkermes-AIR, and the Museum of Science.
